Color in the shadows....Hydrangeas in full bloom!
The heat of summer has finally arrived and everything is in full bloom.
As a matter of fact some of the perennial beds are peaking or on the
mellow decline of their performance. Celebrating in the shadows of our
woodland and shade gardens are spectacular Hydrangeas in full bloom.
This gallery of photos was taken yesterday at the cottage and
"Sugar Hill Farm", the family property just on the other side of Philo.
If you ever had a preconceive notion of what a Hydrangea looks like,
take another look. Not only are there around 75 varieties, but the soil
and conditions that
they grow in will effect the color of the blooms from pink to vibrant
blue. This will give you an idea of range of their beauty.
