Check In/Out

Check-in is between 3:00–6:00pm. Please advise us if you expect to arrive after 6:00pm. We are happy to arrange a late arrival for you. Check-out is 11:00am.

Night Minimums

A two-night minimum stay is a requirement on weekends year round and weekdays for selected accommodations. A three-night minimum is required during holiday and festival periods.

Deposits & Cancellations

A deposit equal to fifty percent of your stay is due and payable when your reservation is made and the balance is charged 14 days prior to arrival. We do require a 21-day notice of cancellation prior to your arrival in order to issue a refund of your deposit, minus a $50 fee. Cancellations made less than 14 days prior to arrival will be charged in full. No exceptions or credits will be made on any cancellation. Cancellations are not confirmed without an email or written verification from The Madrones.  If you are staying at the Madrones for an outside event or special event weekend like the Pinot Festival, Sierra Nevada Musical Festival or Boonville Beer Festival, the full cost of your room is due when you make your reservation with no option to cancel.  


We love pets and do have three guest quarters (The Kitchen, The Garden View & The Living Room) which are pet friendly at The Madrones and two at The Brambles (Fallers & Loggers Cabins). 

Very well behaved pets that are good with other animals are welcome to stay in these rooms for an additional $25 per night.  Pets should be on a leash at all times and never be left in the room alone unless crated. Failure to adhere to these policies will result in ejection from the property with no refund of your additional nights. We provide a doggie towel and blanket for your pet to use if they are going to be sharing the bed or on the furniture.  You are responsible for any damage your pet may cause and particularly messy pets may result in an additional $150 cleaning fee.  Any pet found to be staying in any accommodations aside from our pet friendly rooms will be charged $50 per night and an additional $150 cleaning fee.

Maximum Number of Guests

Each accommodation has a maximum number of guests allowed. Any room found to be over the maximum number of guests or occupied with undeclared guests will be charged $25 per night per guest plus an additional $150 cleaning fee.
The Garden View & both rooms at The Brambles can accommodate families traveling with a child of any age. We can also accommodate guests of any age if you are reserving both Guest Quarters I & II or both Guest Quarters III & IV. Children 12 years and up in the company of a guardian are welcomed in the Masters Quarters as well as the Spare Rooms. Please recognize that The Madrones is a romantic destination for many couples, some taking their first break from their own children, so we want to ensure that all travelers have the experience that they are anticipating.

Lost Key Charge

Should a guest lose their key during their stay, a $75 charge will be applied to their invoice.


The Madrones is smoke free. Smoking is only permitted at designated outside areas and not inside or directly outside buildings.

Off Property Events

In keeping with the serene atmosphere of the property, we’ve found that we just can't accommodate groups coming for an outside wedding, festival or event, unless we have an agreement with the venue of the function. If you have ever found yourself lost amid the hustle and bustle of a family event, you’ll understand why this is not in sync with our other guests who covet The Madrones as a restful destination. More importantly we have a strong commitment to our local business community who rely on travelers that chose Anderson Valley as a destination and are not simply coming for an obligatory event.  If you are attending a local wedding, party or reunion, contact your host for a list of accommodations in the area or we are happy to suggest other Inns or Hotels for your stay. Failure to do this will result in a cancellation of your reservation with no refund of your deposit.  

If you are staying at the Madrones for a special event weekend like the Pinot Festival, Sierra Nevada Musical Festival or Boonville Beer Festival, the full cost of your room is due when you make your reservation. Cancellations are not accepted for special event weekends.
